All About Me
I currently work at MasterLink Internet Marketing in Dallas as an organic Search Engine Optimization Specialist (SEO). I also do blogging, and social media as well as a little email marketing and PPC. Basically I get paid to surf the internet and play on sites like Facebook and Twitter. These are just some of the ways that I make websites sexy to search engines.
So how did I score such a great gig? Glad you asked…
I attended Ball State University and studied foreign languages before switching to the Art Institute of Dallas, earning a degree in Multimedia/Web Design. Long story short I ended up working at Macromedia in Richardson, TX for several years in the localization department where our team was responsible for the Macromedia Fireworks and FreeHand software releases in over 10 ten different languages. The opportunity to work for a great company like Macromedia could not be passed up and I loved working there. But when Adobe bought them out and closed the Texas office I decided it was the perfect time to get back to what I thought I went to school for.

I wanted to get back into the web. But I was never very confident with my design skills so I decided to use my project management skills from Maromedia on web projects. This was all shortly after the dot com bubble burst and the industry was very unstable.
I finally found a position opening at MasterLink for a web design project manager. I went to a couple of interviews but they hired someone else for the job. However due to my varied skills they hired me for a new position helping the design team with web updates and helping out the marketing guy with Search Engine Optimization. I had no idea what SEO was, never even heard of it before but I excitedly signed on. I ended up really taking to SEO side of things and quickly moved to the marketing team full time where I continue to learn and grow in my position daily…all while loving my job!

After several years in the industry I became very active in the SEO online community and then got nominated for The Best Looking Woman of SEO as well as being named SEO’s Biggest Flirt. Odd, since I rarely participate in the SEO social circle. It must have been all due to my marketing skills.

Now that I’ve been in the industry and specifically at Masterlink Interactive for nearly 4 1/2 years, participating with DFWSEM meetings & Everything Internet Radio shows regularly I am confident that I I’ve found my niche.
